When you come off the plane,
The sun’s radiant beam welcomes you, alongside an inviting warm breeze that guides you to your stay.
On your way, Palm trees wave and dance in the sunlight, while rich coloured fruits hang from the brown, bumpy branches.
Mild winds carry the golden dust that tickles your feet.
When you arrive, your ginormous holiday house greets with its open doors.
Its new advanced items astound you as if you’ve seen the Northern lights. Your bed is so soft and comfy while it hugs you, begging you to stay.
Now it’s time to see the city!
You enter the market as new scrumptious smells fill your excited nostrils.
You can hear the place, full of hustle and bustle.
I jump as domino pieces crash onto the table like two golden symbols coming together.
Overjoyed faces and smiles are all you can see for miles.
Families and friends dance to the constant sound of Soca and Calypso while the sun’s bright beam shines on them like a spotlight.
At the beach, you can feel the sand sink between your toes.
You can see a round patterned ball being kicked.
Children showcase their talent while sweat trickles down their forehead, like a river navigating to the sea.
Large crowds flock around like parrots as they enjoy the entertainment.
The passionate children laugh and smile while they continue to do what they love.
Your first day was magnificent and yet, there’s more to come.
Therefore, get some rest…. For this is only the beginning!
